As part of my internship with the Faulkner Morgan Archive (FMA), I initiated the idea of planning a pop-up exhibition focused specifically on local lesbian history from Kentucky. For this exhibition, I reached out to Lussi Brown Coffee Bar and Crossings Lexington (two lesbian-owned businesses) to see if they would be interested in us partnering with them during one of their monthly Lex Lez Nights, and they were more than excited to have us!

When choosing the materials to bring from the Archive, I was lucky enough to be able to pull items from a previous FMA exhibition on The Country, a former lesbian bar in Lexington, KY. This exhibition was part of an oral history project by Adriana Sisko. Adriana’s work on The Country provided a rich resource of lesbian history to pull from for this exhibition, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their work.

A huge thank you to Jonathan Coleman, Sarah Brown, Rebecca Richter and Adriana Sisko.
Their help was incredibly crucial to this exhibition, and I am grateful for their support. <3
